Smith’s 785 series tops Sawyers Motors Classic League

Brian Smith rolled a 785 series to lead the competitio­n in the Sawyers Motors Classic League at the Saugerties Bowlers Club.

Smith had a high game of 279 in his three-game series. Other 700 series in the league were rolled by Chris Raftis (257-751), Jared Mayr (247-716), and Roy Sherman (256-715).

Other top scores were posted by Joe Swart (276693), Dave Scott (248-688), Ronald K. Myers (255-674), Chris Alberts (254-673), Scott Haslam (256-671), Dave Handlowich (245-661), Dave Fuller (236-661) and Jerry Heiser (655). Other scores in the 600s were posted by Rickie Bernard (246- 647), Dave Lowe (244647), Stu Kennedy (644), Bernie Edwards (246-642), Todd Hackett (248-631), Chris Wasserbach (630), Justin Minn (628), Ken VanSickle Jr. (627), Jim Martin (609), Rob Lukens (236604) and Dave Smith (602).

Greg Jones (280-756) led the scoring in the Dave Corneau Constructi­on Men’s League. Other bowlers who rolled 700 series were Damion Ferraro(268-754), Bryan Burt (249-716) and Mike Hopf (254-702).

Bowlers who posted 600 series were Rickie Bernard (289-698), Dave Scott (245693), Scott Genthner (249642), Gary Schoepflin (248633), Chris Gage (624) and Lou Denise (605).

Bob Jackowski Jr. had the best score among the men in the Tuesday Rock & Roll League with a 720 series, while Terri Donahue led the women with a 602 three-game set. Jackowski had a high game of 249. Donahue rolled a 238 in her series.

Damion Ferraro was next among the men with a 701 series that included a 261 game.

Other top male scorers were David Skinner Jr. (255684), Chris Raftis (268683), Billy Donahue (252672), Alan Blanchard (235669), Fred Harris (241-665), James Swanson (660), John Cook Jr. (657), Jeff Riozzi (636), Julian Hanschuh (616), Matthew Seyfarth (615) and John Morris (609). It was the first 600 series of Morris’ career. David Skinner Sr. had a 235 game.

Other top women’s scores were rolled by Jacklyn Perez (485), Kelly Johnson (482), Barbara Coughlin (470) and Dee Coliukos (456).

In the Wednesday Merchants League, Damion Ferraro led the way with a 695 series that included a 256 single game. Other top series were rolled by Kyle Reilly (254-690), Jared Mayr (236-688), Dave Smith (244-688), Dale Rickert (268-685), Danny Sullivan (266-681), Jim Martin (267677), Brian Smith (246-669), Pete Van Etten (258-668), Jeff Riozzi (289-663), Ken Fowler (246-655) and Phil Polcastro (246-643).

Other top bowlers were Dave Palm (235-641), Blaze Legg (259-635), Rob Lamont III (633), Dave Skinner Jr. (628), Chris Snyder (245626), Erik Snyder (625), James Swanson (246-619), Kelly Van De Mark (615), Paul Schneider (238-614), Ken VanSickle Jr. (613), Pete Murphy (613), Nick Beebe (611) and Jim Wuttke (603). Wally Michaels rolled a high game of 245.

In the Columbia Mixed League, Dave Fuller (267637) topped the men’s scores. Wendy Silvestris rolled a 587 series to lead all women competitor­s.

Other men’s scorers were Dave Rikert (616), Brian Holzhauer (255-610), Ronnie Pilz (235-595) and Jim Simmons (594). Michael Peters rolled a high game of 247.

Betsy Bathrick finished one pin behind Silvestris on the women’s side with a 586 series. Other women’s scores were posted by Kelly Johnson (525), Andrea Beaver (482) and Cathy Fuller (468).

In the Friday Mixed League, Christophe­r Masten (589) topped the men and Erica Snyder was first among the women (487). Other men’s scorers were Steve Seigel (550), Rich Mayr (548), Matt Golub (533) and Henry Heinohn (473).

Other top women’s scorers were Amy King (481), Nita Slavin (461), Terri Van Tassell (456) and Michele Seigel (451).

In the Wednesday Morning Early Birds League, Trish McElduff rolled the high series (524). She was followed by Gay Tavares (505), Flo Krauss (477), Barbara Polumbo (474) and Peggy Houtman (431).
