The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
COXSACKIE
• Burglary: Jakawn Heath, 20, and two 17-year-old males, all of Catskill, were arrested by state police in the village of Coxsackie at 9:19p.m., 9:50p.m. and 9:59p.m., respectively, on Thursday, June 1, and were each charged with burglary of a dwelling, a felony. A fourth suspect remained at large. The arrests followed a reported home invasion in the village of Coxsackie at about 8:05p.m. Thursday.
The occupants of the home said the four entered the residence and demanded property before fleeing in a black extended cab pickup truck. When troopers stopped the vehicle on U.S. Route 9W, the suspects fled on foot into a wooded area, authorities said. Heath was arrested on state Route 23. One of the other two was arrested on North Allen Street and the second 17-yearold was arrested at Routes 9W and 23. All three were arraigned and sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $15,000bail each. State police did not identify the minors because of their age. Greene County sheriff’s deputies and village of Catskill police officers assisted. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (518) 622—8600.
ESOPUS
• DWI: Dimara A. Pagano, 21, of Hurley, was arrested at 6:39 a.m. Thursday at 1803state Route 213and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.08percent, both misdemeanors, and with driving without an inspection sticker and moving from lane unsafely, both infractions. Pagano was released with a ticket for Esopus Town Court.
GARDINER • DWI:
Brian S. Jones, 45, of Walden, was arrested by state police at Highland at 3:55p.m. Thursday on state Route 208 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a bloodalcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both felonies, and with not wearing a seat belt, an infraction. Jones was released with a ticket for Gardiner Town Court.
LLOYD
• Drugs: Jeremy Wood, 38, of Hurley, was arrested by state police at Highland at 6:32p.m. Thursday on state Route 299and was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Wood was released with a ticket for Lloyd Town Court.
• Drugs/alcohol: Samuel Dabbs III, 36, of Beacon, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:48a.m. Friday and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (dangerous depressant) and aggravated unlicensed driving (alcohol), both felonies, and with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Dabbs was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $15,000bail pending a court appearance.
SHAWANGUNK
• Contraband: Bradley C. Laning, 29, of Aurora, an inmate at the Shawangunk Correctional Facility serving a life sentence for murder, was arrested by state police at Highland at 1:49 p.m. Thursday at the state prison at 200 Quick Road and was charged with possession of dangerous contraband in prison and possession of a weapon, both felonies. Laning was returned to the prison following his arraignment. Further details were unavailable.
TOWN OF ULSTER
• Contempt: Jessica L. Ryan, 27, of Accord, was arrested by state police at Ulster at the state police barracks at 1791
U.S. Route 209, at 12:22p.m. Thursday, June 1, and was charged with criminal contempt with physical contact. Ryan was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court. Further information was unavailable.
• Drugs: Austin Mansfield, 21, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 3:05p.m. Thursday on Ulster Avenue and was charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Mansfield was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
• Drugs: Joseph J. Candelario, 31, of Saugerties, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 1:29 a.m. Monday following a report of a motor vehicle being driven erratically on Sandy Road and was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana (more than 25grams). A description of the vehicle led police to a car parked in a parking lot off of Washington Avenue. Candelario, the driver, was found with marijuana. He was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
• Shoplifting: Najib M. Barak, 18, of Kingston, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 3:22 p.m. Monday and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Barak is accused of shoplifting $68worth of merchandise from the Kohl’s store at 800 Miron Lane. Najib was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
• Shoplifting: Wendy Mendes, 48, of Staatsburgh, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 4:24 p.m. Monday and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Mendes is accused of shoplifting $23.89 worth of merchandise from the Walmart store at 601Frank E. Sottile Blvd. Mendes was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
• Grand larceny: Jennifer Benassutti, 40, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 10:30a.m. Friday and charged with grand larceny (value of property greater than $1,000). Benassutti was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
