The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Esopus
• DWI: Nina M. Vitale, 33, of Rifton, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies at about 12:37 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, and charged with the felonies of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction for the same offense within the previous 10 years. Vitale was released with tickets for Esopus
Town Court. Deputies were assisted by the Rifton Fire Department and town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
Lloyd
• Aggravated family offense/endangering: Michael Joseph Clarkson, 26, of Highland, was arrested by state police at Highland at 10:36 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, and charged with the felony of aggravated family offense (with more than one offense within 5 years), and with the misdemeanors of acting in a manner injurious to a child and criminal mischief (damage to property). Clarkson was released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
• DWI: Francisca Garcia Martinez, 43, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, and charged with the misdemeanors of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content at or above 0.18%, more than twice the legal limit. Martinez was released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
Marbletown
• Obstruction of breathing: Mandisa Myende, 22, of High Falls, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 11:25a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation (apply pressure), a misdemeanor. Myende was released with a ticket for Marbletown Town Court.
Saugerties
• Obstruction of governmental administration: Nicholas J. Rudner, 30, of Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties police on Tuesday, Oct. 10, and charged with the misdemeanor of obstruction of governmental administration and the violations of disorderly conduct and harassment after officers saw a dispute on Partition Street, authorities said. Rudner was released with tickets for Saugerties Village Court.
• Drugs: Melquan L. Jordan, 33, of Lester, Vt., and Jackie L. Doty, 44, of West Rutland, Vt., were arrested by state police at Ulster in the town of Saugerties at 3:04am. Tuesday, Oct. 10. Both Jordan and Doty were charged with the felonies of criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug, 4 ounces or more) and criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug with intent to sell). Doty was additionally charged with the misdemeanors of criminal use of drug paraphernalia (scales) and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Jordan and Doty were both sent to Ulster County Jail without bail.
