Kingston captures opener

Onteora, Marlboro, Ellenville, New Paltz also win

KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Senior Christina Lettre fired a 6-over-par 42 to lead the Kingston High girls golf team to an eight-stroke win over Washington­ville on Monday at Wiltwyck Golf Club.

The Tigers (1-0) outscored Washington­ville 150-158.

Eighth-grader Teagan Cruz carded a 53 for Kingston and sophomore Claire McFarland had a 55.

Kingston will face Middletown on Wednesday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m. at West Hills Country Club.

Onteora 148, Roosevelt 200

At Woodstock Golf Club, Alexandra Young fired a 1-over 36 as host Onteora (2-0) coasted to an easy win. Rachel Williams was next for the Eagles with a 51.

Onteora takes on Newburgh Free Academy on Wednesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. Roosevelt faces Red Hook on April 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Dinsmore Golf Club in Staatsburg.

Marlboro 130, Pine Plains 169

At Red Hook Golf Club, Alexa Trapani (39) led the way for the visiting Dukes. Gwen Benninger added a 41 for Marlboro and Madison Markle shot a 50.

Mai French and Tessa Blackburn both shot 55s for Pine Plains.

Marlboro squares off against Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. at Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland. Pine Plains has a match against Our Lady of Lourdes on Friday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. at Red Hook Golf Club.

Ellenville wins first match

At the Joseph P. Stoeckeler Jr. Memorial Park and Golf Course in Ellenville, host Ellenville won its first match of the season with Megan Wright (56), Eva Orfanos (62) and Braelyn Peavey (68) totaling 186 strokes on the par-35 layout.

Tri-Valley had only one player available for the match as the rest of the team was sick. Emily Poley shot a 68 for Tri-Valley.

Ellenville has a match with New Paltz on Wednesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. at Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland.

New Paltz 185, Red Hook 186

At Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland, the host Huguenots (2-1) edged Red Hook (0-1) by one stroke as Mina Pine and Giuliana DiBenedett­o both had 61s on Apple Green’s par-35 back nine and teammate Maddie Tiano shot a 63.

For Red Hook, Emma Wilson was the medalist with a 58. She was joined by teammates Sara Flandreau (63) and Eleanor

Hart (65).

New Paltz is back at Apple Greens on Wednesday, April 17, against Ellenville starting at 3 p.m. Also on April 17, Red Hook meets Roosevelt at Dinsmore Golf Club in Staatsburg for a 3:30 p.m. match.
