Vera Ahern of Downingtown

Vera Ahern, 85, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.

She was the beloved wife of the late John F. “Jack” Ahern, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage at the time of his passing in March 2004.

Born in Downingtown, Vera was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Josephine (Menna) DiMarco.

She was a 1946 graduate of Downingtown High School.

Vera worked on the dough prep line for Pepperidge Farm.

She was a member of St. Parish.

Mrs. Ahern is survived by her children, Raymond Howe of Bellevue, Neb., Michael “Mick” Howe of Pottstown, and Debbie lifetime Joseph Davis of Downingtown; brother, Joseph DiMarco of Carlsbad, Calif.; sister, Adeline Best of Downingtown; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and five great-greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Anthony DiMarco.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
