“I would like to commend the Daily Local for its coverage of the problems with the SPCA and with the new leadership ... and that’s a great service for the people and animals of Chester County to know what’s going on there. I’d also like to commend them for their coverage of the Coatesville school district problems and their ongoing look at both of those issues instead of just doing a one-time or two-time story. They keep on it and that’s really excellent.”

“Why does the city tax and the school tax make it difficult for people to pay their taxes? No one wants to drive to the Berkheimer office nor do they want to send a self-addressed envelope to get a receipt. Chester County taxes has a bank that they could go to. Why can’t we have a bank? It would be a lot more convenient for the people if they could pay their taxes at a bank instead of having to worry about running to Berkheimer.”

“About the pestering phone calls. I have found a wonderful way to stop them. When I get a call like that, I wait until I get a real person on the phone and then I blow a real loud whistle in their ear and that stops them cold. So if that will help somebody else from running to the phone, I’m glad to help.”

“I’d like to thank East Bradford Township for insisting on getting the bamboo cut back that was bending over and blocking the lane on Route 52 just short of Rosedale. This property owner had let it become overgrown and it’s been a menace. I want to thank the township for stepping in and taking care of the situation.”

-- Bill of East Bradford

“It’s hard for me to believe that the Democratic candidate for governor of Pennsylvania relates to the middle class. Really? His television commercial says that his first job was operating a forklift for his father’s company. The same commercial flaunts the fact that his company is the largest producer of kitchen cabinets in the United States. To elect a Democrat as governor will require a better candidate than Mr. Wolf. It’s hard for me to relate to someone who has had a silver spoon in his mouth for his entire life.”

“People that are in favor of same-sex marriage need to read what God said about it.”

-- Rachel of Thorndale

“Kudos to the West Chester Police Department for towing away an 80-year-old man’s car after the big snowstorm when he was legally parked in a handicapped space on the 30 block of South Church Street ... and was not in the snow emergency route. Wake up and read the signs before you tow away cars.”

“At Temple University, the history department has thoroughly studied all of the Internet sites to research Joan of Arc. Some books say she incited murders and violence ... not great moral values. Most sites describe her as a devil-like child strategist who inspired soldiers to fight harder. Joan claimed that Saint Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret appeared to her and told her how to do it all. I don’t see how some churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania can name churches in their honor. Is the Internet hypocritical or is the Church?”

“County Commissioner Kathi Cozzone plans to run for the state Senate. She sharply criticizes Gov. Corbett’s budget, which does happen to be balanced and with no tax increase. I guess she forgets Gov. Ed Rendell’s unbalanced budget which left a $4.2 billion debt for Gov. Corbett to be saddled with. If this is how she thinks she won’t get my vote.”

-- Richard of West Goshen

“About the snow plowing in Parkesburg. They have everybody take their cars off the road on Main Street and others so they can plow ... but all they do is plow right down the middle of the road. They don’t plow where people can park their cars and things like that ... they just plow enough so that people then have to shovel so they can park their cars. Parkesbsurg does a lousy job and they’ve been doing it for years. They need to get somebody new in there to do it the right way.”

-- Carmen of Parkesburg

“The Wall Street Journal has reported that the Congressional Investigation Committee confirmed that the Obama Internal Revenue Service has audited 100 percent of the conservative 501C3 organizations. Do Obama and his co-conspirators have no limits on the illegal techniques they use to destroy their political opponents? Is the Constitution dead or just dying?”
