Everyone affiliated with Montgomery sincerely cares about the school’s exceptional execution of its mission. The educator in me identified with that feeling, and I naturally wanted to be part of it.”
Bill Wertz started work as membership director for the Tri-County Area Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 25, a chamber news release says.
As membership director, his role is to increase chamber memberships, improving the opportunity for all members to make new business connections and expand the chamber’s reach in the tri-county area communities.
Wertz attended Wyomissing High School and Gettysburg College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business. He and his wife, Angela, have two children, Michelle, 24, and Eric, 22, a senior at West Chester University.
Wertz has spent most of his entire working life in the tricounty area, except for three years in Charlotte, N.C., and five years in Toledo, Ohio. His work experience includes 28 years with GAI-Tronics Corp. He served various roles while employed, including outside sales representative and regional sales manager. He was also involved in expanding GAI-Tronics International business as European sales manager, Middle Eastern sales manager and Mexico/South American sales manager.
His special interests include sports, especially watching the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State.

Schramm Inc. of West Goshen, a manufacturer of mobile, land-based hydraulic drill rigs, has appointed Kelly Shideler to the newly created position of oil and gas business development manager based in Houston, Texas.
Shideler’s responsibilities will include the energy sector in south-central United States, including key areas of shale development in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arkansas.
Shideler will report to Peter Christian, company vice president of oil and gas.
“While we’ve been operating in the U.S. for over 110 years, we are excited to wel- come Kelly Shideler and strategically establish a Schramm presence in Houston and take advantage of the huge potential growth opportunities created by the region’s booming, shale-driven oil and gas industry,” Schramm President and CEO Ed Breiner wrote in a news release.
“With this new position, we look forward to playing a significant role in developing shale plays across the U.S. and to introducing regional producers to the entire line of Schramm Telemast rigs designed to raise the bar for drill rig safety, portability and production.”
Shideler’s primary focus will be the deployment of Schramm drill rigs designed for shale pad drilling. Shideler brings more than a decade of oil and gas experience. Prior to joining Schramm, he served as vice president of land rig business at TSC, a global drilling product and service provider. He has also held several positions at oil field equipment and service provider TESCO, including executive assignments in China and Russia.
“As American shale production continues to take off, this is an exciting time to join Schramm and work with cutting-edge technologies that can revolutionize shale production and the entire energy industry,” Shideler wrote in the release. “It is an honor to join a team with such a great history of American manufacturing excellence and innovation as they work to provide drilling systems that increase community and worker safety as well as lower operating costs and boost industry performance.”

Penn Medicine has welcomed three new physicians to Chester County Hospital: Andre Konski, MD, MBA, MA, FACR, medical director of radiation oncology; John Kucharczuk, MD, thoracic surgeon; and Janos Tanyi, MD, PhD, gynecologic oncologist.
Dr. Konski earned his Medical Degree in 1984 from New York Medical College. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration in 1995 and a Master of Arts in economics in 1998 from the University of Toledo. In 1988 he completed his residency in radiation oncology at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.
Dr. Konski joined the Medical College of Ohio as an assistant professor in 1988 and was appointed clinical associate professor in 1990. In 2002, he joined Fox Chase Cancer Center Partners as an attending physician and was appointed chief medical officer in 2009. Soon after, he was appointed professor and chairman of the department of radiation oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich., and he served as chief of radiation therapy at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit.
As a member of Chester County Hospital, Dr. Konski joins Dr. Ann Marie Siegal, radi- ation oncologist in practice. Dr. Kucharczuk is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he completed a research training fellowship through the Thoracic Oncology Research Laboratory. He completed his post-graduate training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, including residencies in surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and the Pennsylvania Association for Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Kucharczuk is an expert thoracic surgeon for a variety of benign and malignant diseases of the chest, including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumors. He sees patients for consultation at Chester County Hospital and the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine in Philadelphia, and he performs surgeries at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tanyi specializes in comprehensive care of women with gynecologic cancers, including minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and chemotherapy. His special interest is in immunotherapy for ovarian cancer, and he is the principal investigator of several novel clinical trials.
Dr. Tanyi received his medical degree from the University of Debrecen Medical School and Health Science in Hungary. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
