M. Lee Fertig of Kennett Square

M. Lee Fertig, 76, of Kennett Square, passed away, Friday April 3, 2015 surrounded by his family.

Born in Harrisburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Herbert M. and the late Geraldine (DePew) Fertig. Mr. Fertig served our country in the Navy. He attended Ryder College where he met his sweetheart and future wife, Mary Pyle Fertig enjoying 53 years of marriage.

Lee owned his own accounting practice, MLF Office Service for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of Lower Brandywine Presbyteri­an Church, Canine Partners for Life, Kennett Fire Company and was secretary of SECCRA since its origin.

He enjoyed going to the beach, hunting, fishing, and snowmobili­ng. He was an avid Philadelph­ia sports fan. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family.

Survivors include, in addition to his wife, two sons, Kevin L. Fertig and his wife Allison of Kennett Square and David C. Fertig of Kennett Square; and a daughter, Crystal F. Bennett and her husband Craig of Nottingham; one brother, Wayne B. Fertig of Harrisburg; and six grandchild­ren.

You are invited to visit with Lee’s family and friends from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Friday April 10, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home Inc. (610-4444116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. A funeral service celebratin­g his life will follow at 12 noon. Interment will be in Lower Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington.
