Thomas ‘Tom’ H. Jones of Marietta, Ga.

Thomas “Tom” H. Jones, 52, formerly of West Chester, passed away on Monday August 10, 2015 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by siblings, Christophe­r D. Jones and Bridget Jones-Tyler.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Jones (nee Cosgrove), a daughter Kayleigh E. Jones, his parents, James M. and Gretchen S. Jones, and his brothers, James M. Jones Jr. (Lauren) and Charles E. Jones (Riki). He was adored by many nieces and nephews along with two great nieces and a great nephew.

He was a graduate of Marist High School (1981), attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY (1985).

He was an executive chef in West Chester, Pa. for over 20 years. After deciding to leave the restaurant industry to focus on family, he became a meticulous executive corporate chef with Brock & Company, ensuring the flawless openings of numerous sites across the nation. His inquisitiv­e nature and willingnes­s to learn new skills led him to relocate back to Atlanta to work for his father’s company, James M. Jones Assoc . Inc.

He was an avid sports fan known by some at the “Ted” for enjoying his beloved Braves (and of course, we can’t forget the Bulldogs and Falcons). He never met a stranger and always had time for everyone. He will never be forgotten as the caring, humorous, and most well respected man that he was, and he will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Emory hospital and the Emory transplant team for all their hard work and constant support.
