Local organizations benefit from donations
Susquehanna Bank and its employees donated $100,000 to organizations that promote healthy living for children as a result of its ‘Spring Into Action’ campaign in April and May.
The bank made a donation for each interaction (like, share, comment, retweet) on its Spring Into Action posts on social media and for each Visa ® Check Card purchase transaction in the two-month time span.
“We surpassed our goal of a $75,000 donation before the campaign had ended and decided to raise the amount to $100,000 due to the enthusiastic support from our customers, employees and social media fans,” bank president and CEO Gregory A. Duncan said. “We wanted to enforce the message of living a healthy lifestyle and help local nonprofits that carry out that mission every day.”
Along with the bank’s contributions, Susquehanna employees personally contributed to the effort by making a donation to wear jeans on four “Casual for a Cause” Fridays during the campaign, with the funds to benefit the nonprofits.
Through the campaign, YMCA of Greater Brandywine received $10,000.
