‘Summer Jam’ set for Friday, June 24

The Summer Jam series will also be held on July 29 and Aug. 26

The second Downingtown Summer Jam series opens this week at the Concert Gazebo in Kerr Park.

DOWNINGTOWN >> The second Downingtown Summer Jam Series opens this Friday with musical entertainment.

The series, beginning on June 24 at the Concert Gazebo in Kerr Park, features four musicians and groups.

“Last year’s series was a great success,” said Becca Settle, chairwoman of the Downingtown Main Street Association. “We’re excited about the support for our second year and our move to Kerr Park. We’ll have plenty more room and green space.”

A beer garden hosted by Station Taproom is a new edition. The evenings will also include food and crafts. The food will be prepared by The Happy Pita, St. Anthony’s Restaurant, Mompops, Love Chunk Cookies, and Baba’s Brew Kombucha.

The Summer Jam Series will be held on the last Friday of June, July and August from 6–10 p.m. It is free to the public.

Patty McCabe, a singer-songwriter from Spring City, will perform on June 24 at 6 p.m. Downingtown singer-songwriter Tom Wagner will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Neil Tapp, a solo acoustic ragtime and country blues artist, will follow Wagner. The evening will conclude a performance by Common Treads, a Downingtown family band, at 8 p.m.
