Wanda E. Warman Cochran of West Chester

Wanda E. Warman Cochran, 86, passed away on June 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Wanda was born on April 7, 1930 in Easton, PA to Kenneth Edward Warman Sr. and Ruth Kiefer Helm.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Norman Alfred Cochran Sr., with whom she married in 1951 and shared 52 years of marriage.

Wanda graduated from Easton High School in 1947. She received a BS in Elementary Education in 1951 from West Chester State College, where she met her future husband, Norman Alfred Cochran Sr. In 1971, Wanda received her MS from West Chester University. She taught in Baltimore Public Schools from 1951-1954 and afterward she received a Fulbright scholarshi­p for 1954-1955, while in England, she worked as a graduate tutor at Oxford University. From 1966 to 1987 she worked at Chadds Ford Elementary School.

She enjoyed traveling, tennis, bridge, reading, playing the marimba and cocktails. Wanda was at her best entertaini­ng her friends and family. In addition, she enjoyed volunteeri­ng at the Chester County Hospital.

Wanda is survived by her brother, Kenneth Edward Warman Jr., wife, Sally Fox Warman and their three children; Linda, Shelly and Ken III along with many nieces and nephews. Wanda is also survived by her two children; Jody Ann Cochran Nordeen, Norman Jr. and wife, Roni, as well as their three kids; Al, Kyla and Chad.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm at the DellaVecch­ia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by her funeral service at 4:00pm.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00am at St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2745 Morgan Hill Rd., Easton, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wanda’s name to: Neighborho­od Hospice Inpatient Unit, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.

Lewis M. Stafford, 91, of West Chester, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016.

He was the husband of Peggy Baldwin Stafford.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late William M. and Florence Sylvester Stafford.

Lewis was a 1944 graduate of West Chester H.S. and served in the U.S. 7th Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

He owned Stafford Auto Body in West Chester.

He was a former member of Tri-State Riding Club, Red Rose Horse and Pony Club and the Brandywine Civil War Round Table. He was a Civil War re-enactor for more than 20 years, participat­ed in the movie” Gettysburg” with his horse, Buck, and paraded with his horse, Joe, in West Chester’s Old Fashioned Christmas Parade.

In addition to his wife, Lewis is survived by his son, Jeffrey B. (Allison); grandsons, Jared M. (Katelynn) and Cody A.; great granddaugh­ter, Avery; brother, Robert; sisters, Mary Anne Broomell, Doris Herman, Helen Wilmont, Elsie Hines; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by infant daughters, Wendy K., Megan L. and Lori S.; brother, Alfred E.; and sisters, LaVera Young and Marjorie Trotter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-6960134, where the family will receive guests starting at 9 a.m.

Interment will follow at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery.
