Property stolen from vehicles in West Chester

WEST CHESTER >> Police received three reports of theft from vehicles overnight from July 23 to July 24: one in the 200 block of West Barnard Street, one in the 200 block of West Union Street, and one in the 200 block of West Miner Street. All vehicles had miscellane­ous items removed from them, police said.

Officers recovered a stolen backpack that was removed from one of the vehicles in the area, and it was returned to the owner, police said.

Police advise residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times.

Drug Possession

Jeremy Craig Barr, 19, of West Chester, was stopped for an inoperable headlight on the passenger side of his vehicle on Route 100 at the intersecti­on with Goshen Road at 1:41 a.m. July 9, police said. The stop led to the seizure of approximat­ely two grams of marijuana, for which Barr was arrested, police said.

Identity Theft

An unknown suspect made purchases at the Giant supermarke­t in Caln with a stolen identity at 5 p.m. July 13; the victim of the identity theft is a 61-year-old woman from Newlin, police said. Anyone with informatio­n about the incident is urged to contact state police at the Embreevill­e barracks at 610-486-6280.

Access Device Fraud

• An unknown suspect came into possession of the debit card informatio­n of a 27-year-old man from West Marlboroug­h, and reportedly made fraudulent purchases in the Dominican Republic, Maine, Missouri, Wisconsin and North Dakota around July 12; the total amount of the purchases was $265, police said.

• Two suspects entered the Best Buy located on Baltimore Pike in Springfiel­d, Delaware County, and proceeded to purchase a Sony Playstatio­n 4 video game console at 5:03 p.m. July 4; the couple used a suspected cloned debit card, as the victim, a 48-year-old

woman from Elk, Chester County, was in possession of her card at the time of the theft, police said.

• State police troopers from the Avondale barracks responded to a report of a potential access device fraud at 4 p.m. July 1. The victim was a woman who lives in Pennsbury, police said. Upon arrival at the victim’s residence, it was determined that unknown suspects had gained access to account informatio­n, and used a counterfei­t card to charge $238 in unauthoriz­ed transactio­ns, police said. The card was used at an H&M store located in New York City, police said.

The investigat­ion remains ongoing. Anyone with informatio­n regarding this case is urged to contact state police at the Avondale barracks at 610-268-2022.

DUI

• Austin Brendon Stetler, 21, of Willow Street, reportedly drove his vehicle off the roadway along Route 30, east of Swan Road in West Sadsbury at 3:30 a.m. July 2, police said. Stetler was subsequent­ly charged with DUI and possession of drug parapherna­lia.

• Bryan Tyler Sikora, 46, of Downingtow­n, was arrested for DUI on Route 322, east of Hall Road in West Bradford at 12:20 a.m. July 9, police said.
