Teenager shot in Coatesville
Police say the 17-yearold was struck in the leg early Sunday morning
COATESVILLE >> Police reported a 17-year-old was shot shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the area of North Seventh Avenue and East Diamond Street.
Upon arrival, officers searched the area and found the 17-year-old shot in the leg one block away.
According to police, the victim was shot once in the leg and was treated at Brandywine Hospital where he was later released. Witnesses reportedly told police they saw a large group of teenagers assaulting the victim. Police said they took two suspects into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Detectives are still interviewing suspects and ask anyone with information about the incident and the Friday morning shoot-

A homeless man originally from Pottstown died from multiple gunshot wounds in the 600 block of East Diamond Street in the city Friday, according to police. The incident marked the third homicide in Coatesville this year.
