Rueben Randle and Chris Givens were part of Sunday’s cuts in Eagles camp.

The Rueben Randle experiment is over, the Eagles releasing the Giants castoff Sunday along with veterans Mike Martin and Andrew Gardner, among others, to get below the 75man limit.

The cuts included wide receiver Chris Givens, cornerbacks Randall Evans and Denzel Rice, safety Nick Perry and long snapper John DePalma.

The Eagles placed rookie seventhround draft picks Joe Walker and Alex McCalister on injured reserve.

The Eagles’ roster stands at 73. With teams required to hit the 75-man limit by 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Birds can add players off the waiver wire.

Randle drew raves early in training camp but failed to follow up and separate himself from what’s been an average wide receiving corps. It became apparent the Eagles felt they could do without Randle when he played just two snaps with the first-team offense in the third preseason game. The veteran played 20 snaps in the second half, catching two passes for 13 yards.

Givens had a solid preseason game against the Colts, but the production was too little, too late.

Undrafted rookie wide receivers Paul Turner, Marcus Johnson and Cayleb Jones still are on the roster.

Martin hasn’t gotten on the field in weeks as he’s rested the knee that ailed him last season. There was no room for him in a rotation full of younger, healthier defensive tackles including Beau Allen, Taylor Hart and undrafted rookie Destiny Vaeao.

Gardner still isn’t all the way back from Lisfranc surgery.

Walker (knee) and McCalister (calf) have split contracts, meaning the Eagles aren’t required to pay them $333,000 each in base pay, rather than the rookie minimum of $450,000.
