Fundraiser for Downingtow­n Library Sept. 29

The Downingtow­n Library will hold a new event entitled Library Love: Baskets and Bidding to Benefit Books on Sept. 29, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at the Downingtow­n Country Club. This event will be a fun night of fundraisin­g with raffles, silent auction and live auction items with all proceeds to benefit the library. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the Downingtow­n Library or at www.downingtow­nlibrary.org.

There will be a live auction hosted by popular Facebook page writer Mr. Downingtow­n. Prizes will be a Victory Beer Tasting and tour led by owner Bill Covaleski for four people at their new facility in Parkesburg, a house in Avalon, N.J., for a weekend in the Fall, Santa Claus will visit your home at an agreed upon date and time, a country ride in an antique Mercedes Benz Convertibl­e, a chef’s table at Amani’s BYOB, or a ride in the West Bradford Fire Truck in the Downingtow­n Good Neighbor Christmas Parade.

Other items donated are gift baskets, a framed print of an antique map of Downingtow­n, signed artwork, items from Coach and Vera Bradley, an overnight stay at the Fairville Inn, restaurant gift cards, a handmade children’s quilt, a Pelican SnoBalls Downingtow­n party package, a gift card to the Wayne Bed and Breakfast Inn, and a gift package from Avante salon in Exton.

“I wanted to create an event that celebrates the support of the Downingtow­n community so I came up with the name Library Love,” said Francine Dague. “I have gone around town taking photos of the area business owners, library patrons and community leaders holding up the Library Love logo. The photos will be shown on a screen during the event.”

Sponsors for the event are Roberts Subaru, Station Taproom, McDonalds Downingtow­n, Framers Market, Valocchi and Fischer, and In Motion Physical Therapy.

The Downingtow­n Library moved almost two years ago to its new location at 122 Wallace Ave, adjacent to Kerr Park. The Downingtow­n Library is a 501(c)3.
