Oxford United Methodist Church:

18 Addison St., Oxford. An allyou-can-eat buffet breakfast is held Saturday, Sept. 24 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Buttermilk pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, oven roasted potatoes, dried beef gravy and specialty breads are on the menu. Adults are $7, children ages 3 to 10 are $3. Advance tickets are available from Becky Kleinz or the church office or can by purchased at the door. All proceeds benefit the church’s general fund. Vendors wanted for church flea market

Marshallto­n United Methodist Church: 1282 West Strasburg Road, West Chester. A fall fun festival and flea market is held Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date Sept. 17). On sale will be over 600 mums with planters and hanging baskets, homemade baked goods, and lunch. Vendors needed: Cost is $20 per space and $5 per table, if needed. Ice Cream Fest

Grove United Methodist Church: Ice cream and toppings are offered to all (free) on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 2-4 p.m. when has its annual Ice Cream Fest. The event includes a moon bounce (also free), face painting, and other children’s activities, and live music. Ice cream, toppings, and activities are free to all. Grove is located at 490 West Boot Road north of West Chester; parking is free and ample.

Fall sale, Trunk or Treat

Grove United Methodist Church: 490 W. Boot Road (north of West Chester); Fall sale at Grove United Methodist Church of gently used clothing, toys, children’s books, and baby equipment. Donations of items accepted from noon Oct. 2 through Oct. 4. Sale hours are Oct. 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; Oct. 6, 9-1 a.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.; and Oct. 7, 9-11 a.m. Questions? Book club discussion group

Calvary Lutheran Church: 730 South New Street, West Chester; Leaders of different faith communitie­s are working together to promote understand­ing and peace. Pastor Dan Krewson believes “that we must be intentiona­l to wage peace in light of the escalating religious violence and extremism of our day.” Members of the Religious Council of Greater West Chester are hosting a book discussion group in 2016-17. Participan­ts are invited to read “Laying Down the Sword” by Philip Jenkins. The group will meet four times: Oct. 24, Nov. 28, Jan. 23 and March 6.
