Merle E. ‘Bud’ Hove of Coatesville

Merle E. “Bud” Hove, 86, passed away Satur­day, Septem­ber 17, 2016 at Brandy­wine Hos­pi­tal.

He was the hus­band of the late Mar­garet E. “Mag­gie” Hove, with whom he shared 62 years of mar­riage at the time of her pass­ing.

Born in Poplar Town­ship, Min­nesota, Merle was the son of the late Ole and Ju­dith (nee Fre­dine) Hove.

Merle proudly served in the US Navy dur­ing the Korean Con­flict as an air­man.

He worked for Lukens Steel Com­pany as a melder for 30 years un­til his re­tire­ment.

Merle was a mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Le­gion, Post #475. He en­joyed spend­ing time out­doors; whether it was gar­den­ing, camp­ing, hunt­ing and fishing or trav­el­ing. His most treasured times though, were those spent with his lov­ing fam­ily - he will be greatly missed.

He is sur­vived by his chil­dren; Linda C. Bax­ter (Jacob) of Thorn­dale, Gary Hove (Gina) of Coatesville and Brian Hove (Sher­rie) of New Hol­land; a sis­ter, Judy Kruem­pel of St. Charles, Min­nesota; 5 grand­chil­dren and 4 great grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to his wife Mag­gie, Merle was pre-de­ceased by 3 brothers and 2 sis­ters.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held Fri­day, Septem­ber 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the James J. Terry Fu­neral Home, 736 E. Lan­caster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, where fam­ily and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. un­til the be­gin­ning of the ser­vice. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
