Dorothy Leaf (nee Dietzler) of West Chester

Dorothy Leaf (nee Dietzler) age 96, passed away on Sept. 29, 2016 at Barclay Friends Nursing Home in West Chester.

The daughter of Frank A. Dietzler and Ellen (Costello) Dietzler, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward J. Leaf, and sister Helen Thorn Kramer. She is survived by her brothers (John Dietzler and Fr. Francisco Dietzler, O.C.S.O.) and children: Joseph (Monica Guzman), Suzanne Leaf McKay, Sr. Marian Leaf, O.S.F., Bernadette (Charles Gurtizen), Francis (Elizabeth Felker) and Dorothy (Jeff Fountaine) as well as sixteen grandchildren whom she adored, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls and worked as a secretary before marrying. She was very active in parish life at SS. Peter and Paul Church in West Chester, where she started a holy hour group, opened a religious gift shop, and participated actively in the parish Widow’s Group. She was also a member of the Third Order of St. Francis Fraternity in Springfield for over a half century. As a senior citizen, she founded Leaf Tours and ran her signature annual Canadian pilgrimage to the Catholic shrines of Quebec for many years as well as cross country bus trips and other excursions both here and abroad.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Mon., October 3, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 1325 Boot Rd., West Chester, PA. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am.

Burial is in St. Agnes Cemetery.
