Bradley advances at Ches-Mont tennis
The rain forced the action indoors, but the new site didn’t stop Downingtown West’s Peyton Bradley in her quest for another Ches-Mont League National Division Girls Tennis Singles Championship on Friday.
The persistent rain drove play from West Chester Henderson to Healthplex.
Bradley got a bye in the first round, then beat Olivia Davis of Downingtown East, 6-3, 6-2. She will face Maddie Minio of Downingtown East in the quarterfinals.
Other quarterfinal matchups include Henderson’s Amanda Baxter facing Amanda Nguyen of West Chester East, Hannah Baxter of Henderson against teammate Emma Clark and Downingtown East’s Noelle Eghbali versus West’s Jordan Bradley.
The quarterfinals will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.

DOWNINGTOWN EAST 3, CONESTOGA 0 >> The Cougars (8-5) recorded the 2517, 25-22, 25-19 nonleague victory as Jordan Houseworth collected eight kills and two blocks. Kelly Cherry had 15 digs and one ace, while Jasmine Ferrence added five kills, 13 digs and one ace.
BISHOP SHANAHAN 3, STRATH HAVEN 0 >> Natalie Ogden notched eight kills and two digs as the Eagles (10-0) won the nonleague match, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19. Tara Schultz served five kills with 13 kills and 13 digss and Jenna Losito had 10 digs.
AVON GROVE 3, GARNET VALLEY 2 >> Julia Crabtree recorded 20 kills and Lilly Carlton added 10 as the Red Devils eked out the nonleague match, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13. Chloee Kleespies had 17 digs and Emily McCann added 26 assists.

College Volleyball
IMMACULATA 3, CAIRN 0 >> Immaculata’s volleyball team put on a dominant performance Friday night as it swept Cairn, 3-0, for its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win this season. The Mighty Macs cruised to the victory with scores 25-8, 25-7 and 25-10. Immaculata (4-10, 1-2 CSAC) was led by Shelby Belk’s 12 kills and Arden Vizzard’s 11 kills and seven digs. Gabrielle Guerrera also posted seven kills and eight digs for the Mighty Macs. Olivia Zdradzinski registered 32 assists and six digs. Molly Truitt led the defense with 18 digs.
