Bradley ad­vances at Ches-Mont tennis

The rain forced the ac­tion in­doors, but the new site didn’t stop Down­ing­town West’s Pey­ton Bradley in her quest for an­other Ches-Mont League Na­tional Di­vi­sion Girls Tennis Sin­gles Cham­pi­onship on Fri­day.

The per­sis­tent rain drove play from West Ch­ester Hen­der­son to Healthplex.

Bradley got a bye in the first round, then beat Olivia Davis of Down­ing­town East, 6-3, 6-2. She will face Mad­die Minio of Down­ing­town East in the quar­ter­fi­nals.

Other quar­ter­fi­nal matchups in­clude Hen­der­son’s Amanda Bax­ter fac­ing Amanda Nguyen of West Ch­ester East, Han­nah Bax­ter of Hen­der­son against team­mate Emma Clark and Down­ing­town East’s Noelle Egh­bali ver­sus West’s Jor­dan Bradley.

The quar­ter­fi­nals will be­gin Satur­day at 10 a.m.

DOWN­ING­TOWN EAST 3, CONESTOGA 0 >> The Cougars (8-5) recorded the 2517, 25-22, 25-19 non­league vic­tory as Jor­dan House­worth col­lected eight kills and two blocks. Kelly Cherry had 15 digs and one ace, while Jas­mine Fer­rence added five kills, 13 digs and one ace.

BISHOP SHANA­HAN 3, STRATH HAVEN 0 >> Natalie Og­den notched eight kills and two digs as the Ea­gles (10-0) won the non­league match, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19. Tara Schultz served five kills with 13 kills and 13 digss and Jenna Los­ito had 10 digs.

AVON GROVE 3, GAR­NET VAL­LEY 2 >> Ju­lia Crab­tree recorded 20 kills and Lilly Carl­ton added 10 as the Red Dev­ils eked out the non­league match, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13. Chloee Kleespies had 17 digs and Emily McCann added 26 as­sists.

Col­lege Vol­ley­ball

IMMACULATA 3, CAIRN 0 >> Immaculata’s vol­ley­ball team put on a dom­i­nant per­for­mance Fri­day night as it swept Cairn, 3-0, for its first Colo­nial States Ath­letic Con­fer­ence (CSAC) win this sea­son. The Mighty Macs cruised to the vic­tory with scores 25-8, 25-7 and 25-10. Immaculata (4-10, 1-2 CSAC) was led by Shelby Belk’s 12 kills and Ar­den Viz­zard’s 11 kills and seven digs. Gabrielle Guer­rera also posted seven kills and eight digs for the Mighty Macs. Olivia Zdradzin­ski reg­is­tered 32 as­sists and six digs. Molly Truitt led the de­fense with 18 digs.
