Fred Guiliano, age 73, of Bear, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Fred was born in 1943 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of Josephine Mattoscio Guiliano and Samuel Guiliano.

He graduated from Kennett High School in 1961 and went into the Air Force later that same year. He left the Air Force in 1966 and settled back into Kennett where he worked at Boeing as a welder to make jets and other aircraft. He then became a police officer for Kennett Borough and then for New Garden Township. After that, he became a carpenter and taught carpentry school for Delaware Carpenter’s Local 626 until he retired in 2003.

Fred was a very talented man who enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was especially known for his amazing woodworkin­g skills. He will forever be known for his humorous personalit­y, stubborn mind, and big heart. He had a strong Christian faith witnessed by church family at Cornerston­e United Methodist Church in Bear.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Candy Guiliano; two children, son Fred Guiliano and his wife Kristin, daughter Barbara Jean Guiliano-Burke and her husband Steven; sister Dolores Testa and her husband Louis Testa; three grandchild­ren Dylan, Maurissa, and Seth; and three nieces Lisa Kelly, Michelle Slicer, and Christine Hendrickso­n.

Funeral services will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Friends and family may visit at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
