Rita N. Jungk, formerly of Chadds Ford
Rita N. Jungk (nee Nuzzolese), age 87, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Maris Grove Rose Court.
Rita was born and raised in Elmhurst, NY, and worked as a secretary in Manhattan and, after her marriage, at Purdue University. She graduated from Spalding College, Louisville, KY with honors. An avid participant in civic affairs, Rita was part of the Louisville, KY chapter of the Welcome Wagon; a long time member of the Chadds Ford Historical Society, acting as a volunteer tour guide at the John Chadd House and raising money at Chadds Ford Days; a member of the Chadds Ford Area Women’s Club; Troop Leader of a girl scout troop; a member of the League of Women Voters and working as a volunteer at the election polls. In later years, she was the head of both the Welcoming and Communication committees for the Riviera at Concord community. Her favorite position in life, however, was that of loving and doting mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Hans Jungk; her children, Dr. Anne Apple, Dr. Steven Jungk, Robert Jungk, and Barbara Mishell; her grandchildren, Caitlin Mishell, Laura Mishell, and Claire Jungk; her siblings, Pauline Staiano, Helen Miller, John Nuzzolese, Ralph Nuzzolese, Joe Nuzzolese, and Richard Nuzzolese.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, Oct. 17 from 7-9 pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday morning, Oct. 18 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA. Interment Private.
