Studio hosts photo exhibit
‘I Am Coatesville’ exhibition runs through Dec. 29
COATESVILLE >> Art Partners Studio announced the portrait photography exhibition “I Am Coatesville,” showing now through Dec. 29 at Coatesville Savings Bank.
The exhibit was initiated by two professional photographers, Dave Eastburn and Krista Niles. Their concept is to “engage neighbors in a portrait art project to build community.”
The artists mentored teen and adult photography students—introducing them to the work of eminent portrait photographers, discussing how to build a successful and dynamic relationship between sitter and photographer, and inviting them to create portraits of fellow Coatesville residents in a professionally equipped “pop-up” portrait studio at the Art Partners Studio under the portico of the former Benner School.
The exhibit showcases photographs by Artem Desman, Jeffery Cooper, Peter Guman and Jane Johnson. It acknowledges the generosity of over 30 friends and family who agreed to sit for the portraits. The portraits belong to the artists. Every sitter is represented in the show and each will receive a smaller print to remember the project.
Art Partners Studio thanked Eastburn and Niles for developing the project and Coatesville Savings Bank for sponsoring of the workshop and exhibition. Coatesville Savings Bank is at 185 E. Lincoln Highway.
