Probation for LSD sale
Tyler Harmelink, 26, had advertised the drug for sale on Craigslist, authorities said
A 26-yearold Colmar man arrested in December after police said he sold LSD to an undercover Lansdale detective after he advertised the hallucinogenic drug for sale on Craigslist has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge.
Tyler John Harmelink, of the 2500 block of Trewigtown Road, appeared before Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill and pleaded guilty to receipt in commerce of a controlled substance and was sentenced to three years of probation, according to court records.
A detective with the Lansdale police Street Crimes Unit and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force alleged in court documents that on Dec. 1, 2015, he received information that someone had created a Craigslist post that read, “Lucy anyone? (Lansdale) lucy in the sky with diamonds...e-mail me and we’ll go from there.”
The detective said that based on his experience as a drug investigator, he knew that the term “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” is commonly used as a reference to LSD and he replied to the advertisement, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
On Dec. 15, the detective received a text message that said, “Hey, I’m the guy from Craigslist with the Lucy...are you still interested,” and during subsequent texts, the suspect — who through investigation was identified as Harmelink, police said — agreed to meet for the purposes of an LSD transaction, court documents state.
