Craft fair to benefit gifted programs

WEST CHESTER >> The more than 30-year-old West Chester Area School District craft fair is set for Saturday, which benefits the district’s gifted programs.
For more than 30 years now, a group of parents from the West Chester Area School District has organized a Craft Fair in West Chester. One of the oldest continuously run craft fair, this annual event is held each November. This year the craft fair is on Saturday, Nov. 5. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West Chester East High School at 450 Ellis Lane.
More than 70 artists and fine crafts persons will present their special works this year at what has become an annual tradition. Offering a variety of items for sale that includes original works of art, quilts, indoor and outdoor décor, leather goods, basketry, quilts, gemstones, blown glass, turned wood, pottery, sculptures, holiday décor, gifts for winter wear, toys, pets, candles, jewelry, and functional goods for the home and more. The Craft Fair provides unique hand-made items.
In addition, all 16 schools in the West Chester Area School District (WCASD) donated themed baskets full of goodies that will be raffled off. The vendors also donate an item for raffle so there are lots of chances to win. Refreshments and a wide variety of baked goods are also available.
The craft fair is the WCASD gifted PAC’s sole fundraiser for the year. Proceeds from the craft fair allow PAC to fund grants for gifted resource teachers, provide funding for special events and programs for students within the gifted programs in WCASD schools, organize a speaker series, as well as funding scholarships for seniors from each of the district’s high schools.
Event organizers thanked attendees for their support of the students and the staff by shopping.
