Dorcas J. McGraw of Narvon

Dorcas J. McGraw, 91, a resident of Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon, PA, passed away early Monday morning, October 31, 2016, at the center following an extended illness.

She was born in Plum Creek, rural Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Rev. John S. and Dorothy M. (Fluke) Raugh. On December 11, 1948 she married Dean D. McGraw in Hollidaysburg. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Murphy (Patrick) of Honey Brook; a son, Edwin McGraw (Myra) of Yorba Linda, CA; a daughter-in-law, Jean Oakes of Claysburg; 10 grandchildren: Rodney, Kevin, Steven, and Timothy Oakes, Melissa Needles, Michael and Shawn Murphy, Bradley McGraw, Heather Nowell, and Phillip Trostle; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a brother, J. Schenley Raugh of Satellite Beach, FL; and a sister, Alma Mingle of Roaring Spring. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel E. Oakes; a daughter, Beth McGraw; a grandson, Donald Oakes; 3 sisters: Edna Mae Fornwalt, Mary Doris Raugh, and Maxine Aungst, and a brother, John K. Raugh.

Dorcas attended Claysburg High School and was a former member of Smith Corner Mennonite Church, East Freedom. She retired in 1976 from UNISYS, Downingtown and had previously worked at the Puritan Sweater Factory, Altoona.

Friends will be received from 2-3:30pm, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 3:30pm, Pastor David D. McClanahan officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
