Police: Man charged with attempted murder
Another remains at large after robbery in Caln
Police have charged a man with attempted murder following the Oct. 27 armed robbery of a man who had just returned to his residence with his wife.
According to police, Myles J. Turner, 23, of Newark, Delaware, was apprehended by Delaware State Police on Nov. 1, and is currently awaiting extradition to Chester County.
In addition to attempted murder, he is also charged with criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, assault, weapons violation, and other related charges.
Another suspect in the alleged crime, Aaron C. Mills, 24, with a last known address of New Castle, Delaware, is currently at large and police have asked for the public’s help in finding him.
Police said they have a warrant for Mills’ arrest, and that he will be charged with criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, and related charges.
On Oct. 27, a couple returning home was robbed by a man wearing a ski mask and brandishing a firearm, who police later identified as Turner.
Police said they later stopped a car with both Mills and Turner inside, but were not arrested because the victim had been hospitalized and was receiving treatment for his injuries and could not make a positive identification at that time.
Police said that without a positive identification, they had to investigate further, which included getting a search warrant for the vehicle which gave evidence of their involvement.
During the robbery, Turner allegedly ordered the male victim onto the ground, stole his valuables, and kicked him several times before fleeing the scene.
According to police, the incident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Oct. 27 on Skyview Lane in Thorndale.
Police said Turner allegedly pointed the gun at the man while stealing from him, and reportedly wore a black ski mask that covered his head and face above his top lip. His lips, mouth and cheeks were exposed.
Police ask anyone with information relating to this incident to call 610383-1821.
