Carl Watson Genk, 69, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Brandywine Hall Care Center in West Chester.

He was the husband of Nancy Guman Genk.

Born November 8, 1946 in Philadelph­ia, PA, he was the son of the late Carl William Genk and the late Gertrude Watson Genk.

Carl served in the Marines during the Vietnam War.

He was a graduate of Collingswo­od High School and Rutgers University, where he played baseball and was a member of the Lambda Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Carl started his career at Glenmede Trust Company in Philadelph­ia and spent his career in the financial services and software industry, working for several major software companies. His involvemen­t was primarily sales and marketing, rising to President/General Manager for a Corporate Trust division of a major software company.

He attended St. Joseph Church in Downingtow­n, and enjoyed fishing, baseball and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Kristina Elizabeth Genk of Athens, GA, and Matthew Allen Genk of West Chester; and brother, David Genk of Palm Coast, FL, as well as nephew, Brian Genk of Palm Coast, FL, and niece, Tracy Genk of Jacksonvil­le, FL.

He was preceded in death by his children, Carl Matthew Genk, Katherine Elizabeth Genk, Carl Allen Genk, and his brother, Glenn Allen Genk.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 460 Manor Ave. Downingtow­n, PA 19335; followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 am.

Interment will be held privately in New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to Parkinson’s Disease & Disorders Center, 330 South Ninth Street, 3rd Floor Philadelph­ia, PA 19107 and/or Brandywine Hall Care Center, 800 W. Miner St. West Chester, PA 19382.
