William T. Iacone (Bill), 73, of Port Charlotte, Fla. died peacefully September 23, 2016 at home with his family by his side, after a long bout of cancer.

Bill was born and raised in Wayne, Pa. He and his wife, Gina, resided in Philadelph­ia suburbs until July 2002, when they relocated to Florida. He was a graduate of Radnor High School. He graduated in 1961 and was co-captain of the football team and Vice President of his class. He went on to West Chester University (WCU) class of ’65. He earned two Masters Degrees from Villanova in May of 1970 and in September of 1976. His degrees were in Education Administra­tion. He retired from Octorara School District in June of 2002.

Bill served the community in many ways. He was a crisis counselor for Project Hope to help hurricane victims after Hurricane Charlie in 2004. He was a volunteer with CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and the Red Cross. He was President of his Neighborho­od Community Associatio­n. He was active with the community of the St. Maximillia­n Kolbe Catholic Church where he was a team member with the Men’s Emmaus Retreat Team. He also served the Diocese of Venice as a member of their Review Board.

He was the devoted husband of Gina Iacone (Sabol) and loving father to his 2 sons: Matt (Vanessa) Iacone of West Chester, Pa. and Drew (Cheryl) Iacone of Alamo, California: six grandchild­ren: Ryan, Faith, Ella, and Sophia of West Chester and Maren and Blakely of Alamo, California. Survived also by his brother, Joe (Ginny) Iacone of Wayne, Pa. and cousins, nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Elizabeth (Giambrone) Iacone, brother Angelo and sister Jeannie Aquilante.

A Celebratio­n of Life Mass and Reception will be held in his memory at St. Maximillia­n Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, Pa. 19382 on November 26, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. with reception to follow.
