Donald Richard Scheibe, formerly of West Chester

Donald Richard Scheibe, 78, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Foulk Manor South.

Don was born in 1938 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Max and Hetty (Tressler) Scheibe. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1956 and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Don worked as a research technician for five years at DuPont and then 32 years at Sun Company. He enjoyed spending time with family, travel, bridge, bicycling, ballroom dancing and all things Sinatra.

Don is survived by his wife, Sandy; three children, Don Scheibe Jr. and his wife Sue of Wilmington, DE, Susan Coffin and her husband Douglas of Oxford, OH, and Deb Norman and her husband Eric of Fort Wayne, IN; seven grandsons; his sister Barbara Finkbohner of Bloomsbury, NJ; his brothers Bob and Rick and sister Patti Treston all of West Chester, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Max and Jim, and his sisters Joan and Judy.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 12 at the Best Western Hotel at the Concordville Inn, Route 322 and Route 1, Concordville, PA 19331. Burial will be private.
