Juliana powers Rustin on the ice

Christian Juliana recorded a hat trick as West Chester Rustin held off St. Joseph’s Prep, 6-4, in an Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League contest at Ice Line on Friday.

Juliana scored once in the second period and added two more in the third to give the Golden Knights a 6-4 lead, before St. Joe’s pulled two goals back.

Goalie Joel Keller was credited with a goal. Brett Turner and Matt Owens added single tallies. Tommy Sloan collected three assists.

Keller recorded 19 saves.

KENNETT 8, OXFORD 4 >> The Blue Demons scored five goals in the first period en route to the ICSHL victory. Ryan Johnson collected three goals and two assists for the Blue Demons. Ryan Ganly had a goal and three assists and Luke Borman added a goal and an assist.

Alexander Wehner notched a hat trick for the Hornets.

MALVERN PREP 7, UNIONVILLE 2 >> The Friars scored the game’s first six goals en route to the ICSHL win. Charlie Andreas and Kyle Washkalavi­tch had two goals each. Nick DeSantis had a goal and an assist, while Jake Swayze and Nicholas Martino recorded a pair of assists each.

Ben Brucker and Joey Impagaliaz­zo recorded a goal and an assist each for the Indians.

College Men’s Basketball

WEST LIBERTY 113, CHEYNEY 55>> Freshman Zahir Stewart finished as the leading scorer for Cheyney with 13 points in the season-opening defeat in the MEC/ PSAC Challenge. Amir Boney grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and added nine points. Zac Grossenbac­her led all player with eighteen points and 11 rebounds, eight Hilltopper­s reached double-figures in scoring. Cheyney is back on the court vs Notre Dame College (Ohio) on this evening at 5:30 PM in the finale of the MEC/PSAC Challenge.
