Po­lice: Man threat­ens vic­tim over mon­e­tary dis­pute

An Up­per Darby man was charged with as­sault and ter­ror­is­tic threat-re­lated charges after he al­legedly drew a hand­gun dur­ing a dis­pute about money.

Po­lice said they re­ceived a call at about 4 p.m., Nov. 4 from a third party for a dis­tur­bance on Tabas Lane. When of­fi­cers ar­rived, they de­tained Ever­ton Reid, 36, of Up­per Darby, and took a loaded nine mil­lime­ter Smith and Wes­son from him.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Reid al­legedly drew the hand­gun and threat­ened the vic­tim while hold­ing the firearm dur­ing a dis­pute over money.

Po­lice said Reid al­leged the vic­tim did not ad­e­quately com­plete a con­struc­tion job on time and wanted his money back.

Ge­orge Beebe, 52, of Downingtown, was charged with DUI on Nov. 4. Of­fi­cers re­ceived a re­port of some­one sleep­ing in a run­ning ve­hi­cle for more than an hour. Po­lice said Beebe was found slumped for­ward in a ve­hi­cle, and that of­fi­cers had dif­fi­culty wak­ing him.

After po­lice did to wake him, he al­legedly failed so­bri­ety tests and was sub­se­quently ar­rested for DUI.

Leo McKenna, 50, of Philadel­phia, was charged with theft by un­law­ful tak­ing on Nov. 2 after state po­lice had re­cov­ered a stolen ve­hi­cle in Philadel­phia. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the charges stem from the theft of a 2017 Ford Ex­pe­di­tion from Sloan Ford on Oct. 6.

West White­land po­lice said they were con­tacted by the state po­lice, who told them they re­cov­ered the stolen ve­hi­cle and ar­rested the al­leged op­er­a­tor, McKenna. West White­land de­tec­tives trav­eled to Philadel­phia, where McKenna al­legedly ad­mit­ted his in­volve­ment.

Po­lice said McKenna was re­turned to Ch­ester County and re­manded to the Ch­ester County Prison after his ar­raign­ment.

Joseph Bilder, 22, of Lan­caster, was charged with posses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and posses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia. Po­lice said a pa­trol of­fi­cer stopped Bilder for speed­ing on the Route 30 by­pass on Oct. 29.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the of­fi­cer saw drug para­pher­na­lia in the ve­hi­cle, and after re­ceiv­ing a search war­rant, found sus­pected nar­cotics and mar­i­juana.

Sundiswe Ndlovu, 34, of West Ch­ester, was charged with re­tail theft after of­fi­cers re­sponded to the Boscov’s store for an al­leged $146 theft on Nov. 2.

Sheila West, 40, of Coatesville, was charged with re­tail theft and re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty after of­fi­cers re­sponded to the Boscov’s store for an al­leged $70 theft on Nov. 2.

Mea­gan Harty, 39, of Harrisburg, was charged with DUI and posses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance on Oct. 30. Po­lice said charges were filed after an of­fi­cer re­sponded to a two-ve­hi­cle crash on South Pottstown Pike at Bartlett Av­enue.

There, po­lice asked Harty to per­form so­bri­ety tests, which po­lice said she failed and was sub­se­quently ar­rested. Po­lice said they re­cov­ered sus­pected nar­cotics from Harty’s per­son dur­ing the ar­rest.
