Police seek 2 in assault case

WEST WHITELAND >> The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigat­ing an incident that occurred at approximat­ely 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

The incident occurred at the Zumiez store located inside of the Exton Square Mall. A female employee of Zumiez contacted the police and reported that she was assaulted by two shopliftin­g suspects.

The employee stated that she had observed two females in the store that she suspected of stealing clothing. The employee followed the subjects out of the store and approached them in front of the Victoria’s Secret store.

The two females reportedly ran toward the area of the Charlotte Russe store. The employee followed the subjects and made contact with them again. It was at this time that one of the subjects reportedly struck the employee in the chest and face. The two suspects then ran off and exited the mall with the merchandis­e.

Both suspects were described as African-American females between the ages of 20 and 30. The first suspect was reported to be tall and thin and was wearing a head wrap and glasses. The second female was reported to be shorter than the first female and had long, wavy hair.

Investigat­ors would like to speak to anyone that witnessed the encounter, including any witnesses that may have recorded the incident on their cellphones. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to call 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100.
