Mil­dred M. Hes­sel­bacher, 86, passed away Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 19, 2016 at Ex­ton Se­nior Liv­ing with her lov­ing fam­ily by her side.

Mil­dred was the spouse of Richard Hes­sel­bacher, with whom she shared 63 years of mar­riage.

Born in Brook­lyn, New York, she was the daugh­ter of the late Wal­ter and Frieda (nee Tut­ing) Martschink.

Mil­dred was an ac­tive volunteer at St. Martha’s in Down­ing­town. She en­joyed do­ing puz­zles and was an avid trav­eler with her hus­band. River Cruises in Europe and trips to Key West were a few of her fa­vorites.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, Mil­dred is sur­vived by 5 chil­dren; Carol M. Bar­rett (Bill), of West Ch­ester, Bruce W. Hes­sel­bacher (Char­lene), of Finks­berg, MD, Garry R. Hes­sel­bacher (Chris­tine) of Mor­ris­town, NJ, Lynne D. Hes­sel­bacher of Phoenixville, PA and Diane N. Sper­off (Carl), of Ex­ton, PA; a sis­ter, Linda H. Stelling of Lake Grove, NY; 8 grand­chil­dren and 4 great grand­chil­dren.

Funeral ser­vices for Mil­dred will be held Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Down­ing­town United Methodist Church, 751 E. Lan­caster Ave., Down­ing­town, PA 19335, where fam­ily and may call from 9:15 – 10:45 am.

In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
