Lin­coln guts out hoops win

She’Quan Bai­ley led the way off the bench as Lin­coln held to up­ened three­time Cen­tral At­lantic Col­le­gite Con­fer­ence cham­pion Bloom­field Col­lege, 66-62, in a non­league women’s bas­ket­ball game Wednesday.

The Lady Li­ons im­prove to 2-5 over­all while the Lady Bears fall to 3-3.

Bai­ley came off the bench and did not miss, shoot­ing 5-5 from the field, in­clud­ing one three pointer as well as a free throw to fin­ish the game with a teamhigh 12 points. Eight of those 12 came in the fourth quar­ter. Tiera Pendle­ton was al­most as per­fect, con­nect­ing on four of five shots from the field along with a pair of free throws to fin­ish with ten points. Pendle­ton led the team with six re­bounds while Bai­ley had a team-high five as­sists.

The Lady Li­ons shot over 50 per­cent for the first time in seven games this sea­son, con­nect­ing on 52 per­cent (26-50) of their shots. Bloom­field shot 21-56 and was just 3-18 from three­p­oint range. EAST­ERN 74, IMMACULATA 50>> Tamyra Laws had 21 points and 14 re­bounds to lead the Mighty Macs (05) in the non­league de­feat. Molly Gal­lagher, Erica Kramer and Ma­mako John­son all added six points for Immaculata. Kramer also made seven re­bounds, and John­son grabbed five off the boards.
