Lincoln guts out hoops win

She’Quan Bailey led the way off the bench as Lincoln held to upened threetime Central Atlantic Collegite Conference champion Bloomfield College, 66-62, in a nonleague women’s basketball game Wednesday.

The Lady Lions improve to 2-5 overall while the Lady Bears fall to 3-3.

Bailey came off the bench and did not miss, shooting 5-5 from the field, including one three pointer as well as a free throw to finish the game with a teamhigh 12 points. Eight of those 12 came in the fourth quarter. Tiera Pendleton was almost as perfect, connecting on four of five shots from the field along with a pair of free throws to finish with ten points. Pendleton led the team with six rebounds while Bailey had a team-high five assists.

The Lady Lions shot over 50 percent for the first time in seven games this season, connecting on 52 percent (26-50) of their shots. Bloomfield shot 21-56 and was just 3-18 from threepoint range. EASTERN 74, IMMACULATA 50>> Tamyra Laws had 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Mighty Macs (05) in the nonleague defeat. Molly Gallagher, Erica Kramer and Mamako Johnson all added six points for Immaculata. Kramer also made seven rebounds, and Johnson grabbed five off the boards.
