Seventh graders attend Snack & Wrap Party for good cause

-

Most seventh grade boys don’t know how to wrap presents very well and are not all that interested in learning. Devon Prep’s seventh graders are no different. However, on a recent Wednesday afternoon the entire class headed to the student dining hall for pizza and a lesson on gift wrapping, all for a good cause.

Devon Prep’s 28 seventh graders and their families had agreed to sponsor a family at the Domestic Violence Center in West Chester for Christmas. They bought the family clothes, toys, diapers, personal items and more. After enjoying a hearty snack the boys set out to wrap the gifts, nearly 60 in all, so their sponsored family could have a special holiday. Although folding the ends of the paper and getting the tape on just right was a little tricky - with the help of several moms the boys got the hang of it.

The wrapping party lasted less than two hours, but the good feeling of helping someone in need will be with each of the boys much longer.
