Dorothy De Liberato of Coatesville

1926-2017

Dorothy De Liberato, 90, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her daughter, Tina’s home.

She was the wife of the late Jerry R. DeLiberato, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2005.

Born in Larksville, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Stella Gurka Slody. She moved to Coatesville as an infant and was a lifelong resident.

Dorothy graduated from S. Horace Scott High School in 1944 and worked as a reservation and ticket clerk at the Pennsylvania Railroad Station on N. Third Avenue in Coatesville after graduating. After her marriage, she was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary, Coatesville.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Christina (Tina), with whom she resided for the past four years. Also surviving are two sisters, Marian Mammarella of Honey Brook and Joanna Saska of Coatesville, many nieces and nephews and their families, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers James Slody, Jr. and Leonard Slody.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides from Ascera Care Hospice, especially Erin Clarke, for their care and concern during the last six months.

Dorothy’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Rosary, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9-10am at Wentz Funeral Home, 342 E. Chestnut St., Coatesville 610-384-0318.

Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
