Book club discussion group
Calvary Lutheran Church: 730 South New St., West Chester; Leaders of different faith communities are working together to promote understanding and peace. Members of the Religious Council of Greater West Chester are hosting a book discussion group in 2016-17. Participants are invited to read “Laying Down the Sword” by Philip Jenkins. The group will meet on: Jan. 23and March 6 (first meeting was Oct. 24). All are welcome at 7 p.m. For more information contact facilitator Pastor Dan Krewson (dkrewson@clcwc.org). Local church opens new doors

Church: The doors of the new building of the new church at 52South Brick Lane, Elverson, are now open. The main floor holds a 600-seat sanctuary; the lower level will have space to accommodate social events as well as Sunday School classes and activities. Both levels are accessible from inside and outside, and an elevator is available for the mobility
disabled. The public is invited to guided-walk-throughs Saturday, Jan. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Worship times are 9 and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday with Sunday School classes for all ages held at the same time as the services.
