Robert Dennis Alexander of Exton
Robert Dennis Alexander, 80, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Barclay Friends of West Chester, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Virginia E. Mourar Alexander, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in San Diego, California, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Frances A. Gilbert Alexander.
Robert received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Military institute and his master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania. He was a Fellow at General Electric for 41 years prior to retiring in 1998.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed hiking, camping, riding motorcycles and most of all spending time with his family. He was a Scottish enthusiast who enjoyed playing the bagpipes.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his three children, Susan E. Barnard, Catherine L. (Brian J.) Roumpz and Stephen G. (Tiffany M.) Alexander. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lauren, Danny, Caroline, Elizabeth, Emma, Charlotte and Christina. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles S. and John P. Alexander.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 104 South Village Avenue, Exton, Pa 19341, where family and friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:15 am.
Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Exton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at the above address.
