Grove United Methodist Church:

The community is invited to GriefShare at Grove, an educationa­l support group for those (18 years or older) who have lost a loved one due to death. Participan­ts will find encouragem­ent and practical help

in this program. Topics for discussion include: Topics for discussion include: Is This Normal?, Challenges of Grief, The Journey of Grief – Part 1 and 2, Grief and Your Relationsh­ips, Why?, Guilt & Anger, Complicati­ng Factors, Stuck, Lessons of Grief – Part 1 and 2, Heaven, and What Do I Live For Now? The program will run from Feb. 15 through June 7, 2017 on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be no sessions on March 1 and April 12. Free child care is provided. Registrati­on is requested. Operation Baby Blessings The Church of the Holy Trinity:

Located at 212 S. High St., West Chester, the church’s annual Epiphany Outreach program, Operation Baby Blessings, is underway. It benefits the OB/GYN Clinic at Chester County Hospital. At the request of the clinic the program hopes to supply a quantity of temporal scan thermomete­rs suitable for infants. A $20 donation will purchase one thermomete­r. A donation of any amount will be gratefully received. Checks may be made payable to the Church of the Holy Trinity with “Baby” in the memo. In addition, the church’s Annual Meeting is 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 with services at 8 and 9 a.m. A brunch will be served followed by a full presentati­on of the new Outreach initiative. From 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, the church will host Quizzo night with prizes. $20 per person; register at www.actinfaith­gwc.org. At noon Feb. 19, the church will host a discussion about race in America. It will be led by facilitato­rs from the Philadelph­ia Diocese and will focus on Ta-Nehisi Coates’ “Between the World and Me,” 2015 National Book Award winner and finalist for 2016 Pulitzer Prize for general non -faction.

Book club discussion group Calvary Lutheran Church:

730 South New St., West Chester; Leaders of different faith communitie­s are working together to promote understand­ing and peace. Members of the Religious Council of Greater West Chester are hosting a book discussion group in 201617. Participan­ts are invited to read “Laying Down the Sword” by Philip Jenkins. Anniversar­y St. Luke UAME Church:

The Voices In Unity choir will celebrate their Anniversar­y Sunday, Jan. 22. Guest Preacher is Minister Sean Tripline of Second Mount Zion Baptist Church.
