Sandra H. Evans of West Chester

Sandra H. Evans, aged 74, died peacefully on January 2, 2017 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born December 16, 1942 in Portland Maine , the first daughter of Anthony B. Hopkins and Velma E. Grant Hopkins and sister to Sherry, Holly and Ginny.

“Sandy” was a 1961 graduate of West Chester High School. She had a successful 32 year career in local banking and retired in the fall of 2007. She was passionate about many things in her life but her family, friends, neighbors ( best neighbors ever ) and the Eagles were always at the top of her list. She loved the beach in any weather and especially enjoyed her many weekends and summers in Ocean City NJ. She had an incredible relationship with her friends of more than 50 years. This group is affectionately known as “the lunch bunch.” Friends forever.

In the mid 1980’s Sandy met the man who would love her unconditionally and make her laugh until her final days.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband James C. Fata, Sr. and her two children and their families as well as her step children and their families. Her son E. Michael Evans and his wife Sandy Evans along with their children Emily and Owen. Her daughter Jody E. Rollins and her husband Markham F. Rollins along with their children Evann, Madeline, Jordan, Markham, Jonathan and Christopher. Her step daughter Tiffany Gross along with her husband William Gross and their children Grayson and Liam. Her step son, James Fata, Jr. and his wife Wendy along with their children Rowan, Willow and Rocco. Her step daughter Nicole Fata and her two daughters JaVonna and Danaya.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:00 am-12:00 noon at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181 DellaFH.com
