The Ches-Mont League will be well-represented in the Class 3A District 1 Duals, but qualifying for the state duals will be much tougher.

Downingtown West, West Chester Rustin, West Chester Henderson, Coatesville and Oxford make up nearly a third of the 16-team bracket that will churn out the top four finishers for the PIAA duals. Church Farm School will compete in the Class 2A tournament, which does not begin until February 4.

The 3A first round will begin Thursday, with Rustin and Methacton as the host sites. Only one round will be competed that night. At Rustin, No. 5 Garnet Valley will take on No. 12 Hender-

son, and No. 4 Owen J. Roberts will face No. 13 Coatesville

at 5:30 p.m. Following those, No. 6 Downingtown West will square off against No. 11 Upper Perkiomen and No. 8 Rustin sees No. 9 Upper Darby at 7 p.m.

At Methacton, the 5:30 duals

are between top-seeded Boyertown and No. 16 Neshaminy, as well as No. 2 Council Rock South and No. 15 Oxford. At 7 p.m., No. 3 Methacton faces No. 14 Penncrest and No. 7 Spring-Ford opposes

No. 10 Souderton.

The first round losers are one and done, but the eight that advance to the quarterfinals at Pottsgrove High on February 3 will move into a double elimination bracket.
