Thomas C. Kadyszewski of West Chester

Thomas C. Kadyszewski, 87 of West Chester, PA, died at his home on Sunday January 22, 2017 surrounded by family members.

He was the husband of Toyoko Kadyszewski, married 67 years and the father of Thomas Kadyszewski, Marie Anderson and Julia Notarianni. He lived in West Chester for 46 years.

Born in Kulpmont, PA, in November 1929 to Walter and Helen Kadyszewski, he was one of twelve children.

Thomas grew up in this coal producing area and enjoyed playing baseball, football and boxing. He attended Kulpmont High School.

Upon graduating in 1947, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served twenty years. During his military career, he served several tours overseas, mainly Okinawa and Japan. During his first tour to Japan he married the love of his life, Toyoko. He retired as a Master Sargent.

Retirement brought Tom and his family back east to Pennsylvania. While still raising a family, and working he earned his BS in engineering from Widner University. He started his second career as an engineer in the private sector and continued in the government sector as a civil service engineer with the Navy. He retired after twenty years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He also has four surviving siblings: Frank Kadell, Barbara Lazarski, Ron Kadyszewski and Agatha Konieczynski.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380.

Interment will be at St Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
