Barbara A. Turner of Elverson

Barbara A. Turner (nee Schwarz), 78, of Elverson, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Hickory House Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Philadelphia, Barbara was the daughter of Carl & Catherine Schwarz.

Barbara attended West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School.

Barbara married Paul Mercado and had a daughter, Donna Lynne. Paul died in 1959.

Barbara married Peter A. Turner and raised his son, Peter, Jr. Together, Barbara and Peter had four children, Diane McBride (James, III), Deborah Walker (William, Sr.), David (Joy) and Barbara Smith (Bruce).

Barbara was a devout Catholic and served as an extraordinary minister of communion.

Barbara is predeceased by both her parents, her husband, Peter, her sister Catherine Cacuzzi, her brother Carl Schwarz and grandson, David Turner, Jr.

Barbara leaves behind, her large and loving family including, six children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Road (Rt-82), West Brandywine, PA 19320, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 a.m.
