Patriots stay perfect in American

The Great Valley boys’ basketball team continues to find ways to win. The Patriots edged host Kennett, 3735, on Tuesday to go to 7-0 in the Ches-Mont League Amer- ican Division. With the score deadlocked, Robert Geiss grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with two seconds on the clock for the game-winner. Liam Ward and J.J. Long each scored 11 points for Great Valley.

Mitch Kosara led the way for Kennett (1-7, 3-13) with 14 points.

PHELPS 78, FRIENDS CENTRAL 36 » Kaleb Morton hit five 3-pointers in the third quarter to power the home team to a nonleague win. Vershone Bowser chipped in 10 points and teammate Yagichan Selcuk added 12 points and 10 rebounds to help Phelps (10-13 overall).

RIDLEY 45, CONESTOGA 43 »

The Pioneers fell a bucket short in a Central League showdown on the road. Charlie Martin paced ’Stoga with 15 points and Zack Lezanic added 14 for Conestoga, who falls to 10-1 in the conference (13-3 overall). The Pioneers were outscored 16-10 in the final quarter.

UNIONVILLE 71, OCTORARA 58

» The Indians outscored the Braves 21-10 in the fourth quarter to win the ChesMont American clash. Andrew Burich scored a teamhigh 21 and Scottie Miller chipped in 12 for Unionville (4-4, 8-8). Jamonti Mayo led Octorara with 21 points. WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 60, SUN VALLEY 43 » The Golden Knights jumped out to an early 12 point lead and never looked back. Jake Nelson poured in 24 points and teammate Brandon Frazier added 12 for Rustin (12-5 overall).

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 52, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 41 » Wayne Anderson (13 points) and Greg Barton (15) powered the host Whippets past the Warriors in a Ches-Mont National contest. West was playing without senior Matt Carson, who was out with a sore back. Adrien Piel and Joe Saulino scored 13 and 10 points, respective­ly, for Henderson.

» Ryan Cahill scored 15 to lead the Cougars past the Vikings. Andrew King added 10 points for Downingtow­n East. Gibby Trowery scored 10 for West Chester East, who scored just 14 points in the first half.
