Calvin A. ‘Kelly’ Barr of Elizabetht­own

Calvin A. “Kelly” Barr, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 under the care of the Masonic Village.

Born in Gap, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Eva Barr.

He served honorably in the US Army from 1957 to 1959, and then with the Army Reserves until 1963. He had worked at Nupak, American Hardware and Service Star, all of Parkesburg, retiring in 1986.

Kelly was a member at Olivet United Methodist Church, serving as the Class President of Sunday School and as an Usher. He was a member of the Brandywine-Goddard Lodge #383 F.&A.M.

Kelly enjoyed playing Santa Claus during the Christmas season.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sherrie Eckman, wife of Alan, of New Holland, and Susan Ward Barber, wife of Jay T, of Coatesvill­e.; grandchild­ren, Andrew J. Ward, Julia L. Ward, Tyler M. Eckman and Aaron S. Eckman; and one brother, Melvin Barr of Gap.

He was predecease­d by his siblings, Donald, Rosa, John and Roy Barr.

The Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, February 1st at 11 AM at Olivet United Methodist Church, 310 E Chestnut St., Coatesvill­e, PA 19320 with visitation from 9 AM until 10:45 AM, at which time a Masonic Service will take place. Interment will take place at 3 PM at Limeville United Methodist Cemetery.
