Cops: Man assaulted, kicked woman

A Southern Chester County man faces multiple charges after police say he assaulted a woman, throwing her over the hood of her car, then kicking her several times while she was on the ground.

Robert Eller, 36, of Avondale, faces multiple charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

The Southern Chester County Regional Police Department issues a press release with this version of events.

On Monday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m., a female victim arrived at the police station to report an assault that occurred at approximat­ely 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Cooper Road.

The victim was transporte­d to the hospital before the interview could be conducted, due to obvious pain from her injuries. After being discharged from the hospital, the victim was able to provide an interview with police and stated the following: The victim arrived with her children at Eller’s residence. An argument ensued and Eller allegedly grabbed the victim by her neck, throwing her over the hood of her vehicle, causing her to land on the ground. While on the ground Eller allegedly kicked the victim several times in the chest and leg area while spitting on her. The victim then threatened to call the police, which she said angered Eller, causing him to take her phone and break it. Eller then allegedly fled the scene. Eller was located later at his residence and taken into custody.

He was arraigned by Magisteria­l District Judge Matthew Seavey on multiple charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal Mischief. Eller was released after posting 10 percent of $7,500 bail.
