The Route 202 Parkway in Montgomery Township is back open after a driver was hurt in a crash Monday morning.

The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. in the northbound lane of the parkway just north of Horsham Road, according to police and Montgomery County Department of Public Safety dispatches.

A gold-colored Jeep came to rest on its roof facing southbound in the northbound lane, just behind a white work van that was also damaged in the accident and near an embankment running from the road to a walking trail.

Police at the scene said the driver of Jeep involved in the crash suffered minor injuries; the person was not ejected, police said, but fell out of the roof of the Jeep after it stopped. The driver of the Jeep was treated by Volunteer Medical Service Corps ambulance, and was taken to Abington Hospital for treatment of facial lacerations, according to police.

Both lanes of the 202 Parkway were closed for more than an hour, and the southbound lane reopened around 10:40 a.m., before being closed again temporarily as two tow trucks maneuvered into position. One tow truck held the Jeep steady on two wheels as another connected to the Jeep from the rear, and both ultimately rolled the Jeep back onto all four wheels then pulled it onto a tow truck.

All lanes of the Parkway were back open by 10:40 a.m., and police said at that time the cause of the accident was still under investigation. In addition to VMSC, the Fire Department of Montgomery Township also responded.
