Raymond Fred Wolfe, formerly of Sadsburyvi­lle

Raymond Fred Wolfe, 67, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Chester Valley Rehabilita­tion and Nursing Center of Malvern.

He was the husband of the late Cynthia Gardener Wolfe with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Born in Coatesvill­e, he was the son of the late Raymond and Emily Henry Wolfe.

Fred was an area resident all his life and a 1967 graduate of the Coatesvill­e High School. He continued his education and graduated from West Chester University in 1971. After graduation he found employment at the Daily Local Newspaper and retired in 2011 with 40 years of service in the advertisin­g department.

Fred was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyteri­an Church of Parkesburg and a life long member of the Sadsburyvi­lle Fire Company where their banquet hall was named in his honor. He was the president and coach of the Fallowfiel­d Fillies for many years as well as actively involved with the Jaycees and Coatesvill­e Christmas Parade. Anyone who knew Fred also knew he was an avid Philadelph­ia Phillies fan.

He is survived by two daughters; Michelle L. Wolfe of Seattle, WA and Kelly D. Wolfe of Boise, ID.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Febraury 18, 2017 at 11am at the Upper Octorara Presbyteri­an Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation from 10 to 11am and also at the church on Friday evening from 7-8:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Fred’s memory to the Upper Octorara Presbyteri­an Church at the above address or the Sadsburyvi­lle Fire Co., P.O. Box 72, Sadsburyvi­lle, PA 19369.
