Child hit by car

DOWNINGTOW­N >> Police investigat­ed a report of a child hit by a car with cooperatio­n from the driver.

Downingtow­n police responded at 4:49 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the unit block of East Lancaster Avenue on Jan. 26. Police said that a 12-year-old boy had suffered minor to moderate injuries. Washington Hose Company Ambulance and Medics treated him at the scene and he was transporte­d to Paoli Hospital for further evaluation.

The driver told police that he traveled west on Pennsylvan­ia Avenue when a pedestrian “suddenly ran out in front of him.” The driver said he used his brakes, but it was too late. The boy reportedly hit the windshield of the car, which caused damage, and then he fell to the ground.

Two witnesses in the car behind the striking vehicle told police that they watched the pedestrian attempt to cross the street in the crosswalk in front of oncoming traffic. According to the police report, the witnesses both stated to police that the pedestrian “ran across the pedestrian designated crosswalk without stopping.” They both said that the driver could not avoid the collision.

DUI

Downingtow­n police said Anna Lisa Sutch, 52, of Media, was stopped in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue at 10:05 p.m. on Feb. 7 while reportedly driving her vehicle in a reckless manner. Police said Sutch was swerving back and forth and then reportedly missed hitting parked vehicles on the roadway. When approached by the officer, they said Sutch was found to have an odor of alcohol, slurred speech and un-

able to answer basic questions. Police said Sutch reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Downingtow­n police said Alba Rosa Mason, 33, of Lancaster, was driving in the 100 block of East Lancaster Avenue at approximat­ely 1 a.m. on Jan. 28 when she made an illegal U-turn and parked on the opposite side of the street. While parking the vehicle Mason hit the curb, sat there for a bit and then pulled out into traffic lanes again, according to the police report. A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of West Lancaster Avenue for a headlight that was out and for driving over the speed limit. Police said that her speech was slurred and she had trouble answering simple questions. Police said Mason reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody for driving under the

influence along with multiple traffic violations.

Trespassin­g and public drunkennes­s

Downingtow­n police said Kelsey Philip Wilkinson, 25, of Coatesvill­e, reportedly became belligeren­t with the staff at a bar called Chelsy’s at 121 East Lancaster Avenue at 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 27. The staff told police that they had asked Wilkinson to leave and he began verbally abusing and threatenin­g them. Upon police arrival, they found Wilkinson reportedly had trouble walking and standing, his speech was slurred and they said it was “obvious” he was intoxicate­d. Wilkinson was taken into custody and a criminal complaint was filed for criminal trespass and public drunkennes­s.

Theft

Downintown police received a report at 7 p.m. on Feb. 7, that a factory installed radio was stolen from the front console of a car parked in the area of 200 block of Prospect Avenue. In addition, a subwoofer and amplifier from

under the backseat of the vehicle were stolen. Two TV screens located in the driver and passenger headrests were damaged during an apparent attempt to steal them. Damages and theft occurred sometime since Dec. 15, 2016. The radio is valued at $200; the subwoofer and Amplifier at $2,000; and the damage to headrest TV screens at $200.

Downingtow­n police received a report at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 that an Apple iPhone was stolen from an unsecured cubby in Urban Air Trampoline Park at 981 East Lancaster Avenue in East Caln Township the previous night between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m.

Warrants

Downingtow­n police said Brandon John Bodnar, 21, of Pottstown, was found to have an active bench warrant when officers came into contact with him during a disturbanc­e in the 200 block of West Lancaster Avenue at 4 a.m. on Jan. 29. Bodnar was taken into custody and turned over to Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department.
